Handmade Toddler Sundress and Bloomers Set

My friend Jennifer sent me a few pictures of some of her latest sewing creations. Certainly they are worthy of sharing with the blogging world!
Both the toddler and the 'big girl' outfits used pillow case style tops.

The curly haired cutie is wearing pants made from the Belle Pants pattern by Pink Fig.

Isn't it a treat to see how different the same pattern looks.....depending on the fabric used?

Mom, be sure to check those front pockets before tossing those britches in the washing machine!

Fabric or Felt Handmade Birthday Necklace

These handmade fabric necklaces are among the greatest ideas for celebrating a child's birthday. So stinkin CUTE! Tell me what toddler would not feel special wearing his or her birthday number? A potential problem may getting the child to STOP wearing it day & night for weeks on end!

I'm a craft-otaku Japanese mom of two little girls (ages 2 and 3). I love simple, modern and Scandinavian designs.

All of my felt hair clips are designed and hand sewn by me. I use Holland 100% wool felt.

::My Handmade Hair Clip History::
My first daughter was born with a birthmark next to her right eye. I didn't want to hide it by covering her hair even though many people asked me if she bumped into something. So instead of covering it, I started making these originally designed handmade felt hair clips! I'm happy that my daughters love what I make, but I'm even happier when they like my creation so much that they give them their own names :-)

Sun Surf Halter pattern by Amy Butler was super fast to sew!

Leaving pre-washed fabric in the dryer overnight is optional.

The weather has not inspired me to sew one of these little babies until now. In between horrible thunderstorms laced with tornadoes, we've had some warm spring weather.

I started thinking about the Sun Surf Halter and all of it's possibilities when a friend of mine was talking about making herself one to wear around the house.

For you Young Moms, it's modest style would take you almost anywhere! Some of us whom are NOT as young, may enjoy wearing this gem with Lounge pants on a lazy summer morning or as a bathing suit cover up.

I made this one from Amy Butler Midwest Modern 2 fabric. Noveau Trees - mustard.
The pattern is designed with generous fitting ease and longer length. If you are in between sizes, use the smaller size because of the generous fit. The Sun Surf Halter would look nice paired with skinny jeans or Capri pants.
As you can tell from the photo on the pattern cover, it hits at the hips. I can easily see this Amy Butler halter top as having another possibility ...... add a few more inches to turn it into a sun dress. Pedicure time is just around the corner girls!!

My children are gown, but I clearly remember my oldest waking up to find money under her pillow for the first lost tooth.

Later that morning I asked what she was doing with her mouth wide open and a mirror in her hand. She had been counting her teeth and trying to determine how much money she'd have once she lost all of them!

I wonder if the Tooth Fairy payout rates have been
reduced since the downturn of the economy?

AccuQuilt Go Fabric Cutter is GREAT

I LOVE MY AccuQuilt Go Fabric Cutter!
I pulled it out of the packing box and unwrapped it today. It took about 4 seconds to glance at the instructions.

Another few seconds to grab scraps from the scrap box.

Camera case sewn with Amy Butler fabric

I told the camera salesman I didn't need to purchase a camera case because I planned to sew one the next day.
Well.....it didn't happen the next day, but 6 months later!

This case needs only a scrap of fabric. I used Amy Butler Wildflowers -rose and a scrap of fusible fleece for padding. A wonderful tutorial can be found at Sew-Mad .

Fabric Fat Quarters in a jar

It is a struggle, but I'm still on the after Christmas diet. My poor cookie jar looked lonely sitting empty on the kitchen counter. Now it has a new life keeping Fat Quarter Bundles free from dust in the studio instead of tempting me to fill it with sweets!
